Archival Standards

We believe it is important to adhere to international standards for cataloguing archives. Adhering to such standards means that data can easily be shared and re-used. Archives Hub descriptions comply with ISAD (G) and the format used to store the descriptions is EAD.

We also use controlled access points for indexing subjects, personal, corporate and family names, places and genre. It is important to include index terms within descriptions as they can help users to find related materials within the Hub.
